Matt and Mel Parker and their two young children, Katie and Nathan, came to Kids Alive International from Yeovil Community Church, in the southwest of England. Prior to joining the Kids Alive staff, Matt taught at a school near London after college, and Mel worked for a children’s team in a theater company. The Parkers met in Lebanon where Mel was teaching school in the late 1990s.

The Parkers believe that, “Jesus valued children and calls us to do the same! Working with Kids Alive allows us to not only help children who have physical, emotional, social and educational needs, but also gives us the opportunity to share with them the love of Christ.”

As the new Regional Director, Matt Parker will oversee the Kids Alive ministry locations in Lebanon, Romania, Sudan, and Kenya. He will be responsible for general management, field budgets, field strategic plans and the implementation of the Country Distinctive guidelines. Matt will carry out these responsibilities from his office in Lebanon.
