Abused Children Risk Lives on the Streets

One day, Angela and Teresa finally decided they had endured enough. They couldn’t put up with another day being raped, violated and beaten by their parents. They walked out of the front door of their house and never looked back.

Angela and Teresa were 6 and 8 years old.

These little girls endured sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect at the hands of their parents for years before they decided to walk away. Even life on the street looked better to them.

But these little girls had no way to take care of themselves. They had no future. They were forced to beg for scraps of food on Guatemala’s dangerous streets.

And they had no one to protect them. It was only a matter of time before they would be sexually abused again. Children like Angela and Teresa are often forced into a life of prostitution.

But, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, these two precious girls were able to find refuge in a Kids Alive home. And that’s where they came alive.
