Anderson Graduate Ministry

Taitung, Taiwan

This ministry supports alumni of the Taitung Onesiphorus Children’s Home in Taiwan. After the last polio victim graduated from the children’s home in 2000, it became apparent the ministry needed to continue to extend care for adults graduates with physical challenges. The graduate ministry has since expanded to also assist the transition of more recent graduates, even those without physical limitations, into independent adulthood. The most important aim of the graduate ministry is to assist alumni to become followers of Jesus Christ. Another goal is to provide counsel and practical assistance to the alumni as they mature and become more independent, including support for those of low income, assisting with transportation for alumni with special needs, minor repairs of residences or vehicles, accompaniment on trips to the doctor, etc. Whatever the need, we will consider assisting, but with a focus on encouraging independence and avoiding a relationship of dependence.
