Breaking Poverty with Education

At Kids Alive, one of our highest priorities is to break the cycle of poverty. Our goal is that all the kids in our care learn to meet their own needs, as well as the needs of their families and communities.

The primary way we do this is pretty simple — we provide kids with a basic education, especially the ability to read and write.

Without an education, young people often can’t find work. If they do it’s the most menial and lowest paying jobs.

Education means meaningful employment, a fair wage, and the ability to provide for a family and poverty and dependency are defeated.

The importance of education is shown in the life of Walkiris, from an orphan without enough to eat to a university student with plans to become a pediatrician — this is the transformation that education can bring!

Sponsored children have their education covered as part of the sponsorship program, but a great many of our children do not have sponsors. Please consider giving right now to help provide a needy little boy or girl with an education.
