First House in Haiti

A team of high schoolers from Wheaton Bible Church helped put up the walls and part of the roof on our very first residential home in Haiti this month. We're off to a great start to finishing this first house and relocating one of our families from rented facilities into their brand new Kids Alive home.
Construction on our second children's home will begin in a couple of weeks when a service team from Summit Church travels to Haiti and the process begins all over again. Because of the wall construction – a panel system of foam with a wire mesh on each side over which plaster is applied – these homes are able to be put up rather quickly.
After the electric and plumbing are installed we will begin plastering the first home – probably within the next couple of weeks.
On behalf of the Kids Alive Haiti children, house parents and staff – a big "Thank you" to everyone who pitched in to make this a reality!
