On My Heart – From Rescue to Restoration

Al articleOn the surface, the ministry of Kids Alive looks simple — we rescue children who have been abandoned or neglected by taking them into one of our residential homes and caring for them. We do this because God has called us to do it, as stated in James 1:27.

But the reality of what we do and how we seek to serve God is more complicated than simply physically rescuing children through our residential homes. We provide much more than survival — shelter, food and basic medical care. We also give these children love and security, an education, hope for the future, and the eternal Good News about a God who loves them and wants the best for them. In every case, we want nothing less than for each child to grow into the young man or woman that God desires.

And we serve more than just the kids in our homes. Through our care centers, schools, clinics and other outreach efforts we help far more people in the surrounding communities than we could ever have room for in our residential programs.

As we rescue children and share Christ with them, we are taking important steps toward restoring lives and communities. Every child we help moves one step further away from the cycle of hopelessness and poverty. Every village where we have a school, clinic or care center becomes a place of restoration and hope — a focal point for God’s love in that place.

Rescuing Children . . . Restoring Communities. This is what Kids Alive does, and we can only do it through the gracious prayers and generous giving of those who partner with us in this great task. Thank you for your interest and partnership in this critically important ministry.

For the children,
