Romania
If you come to visit House of Hope you will be welcomed by ten girls with big smiles who clearly are socially well-adjusted, happy and full of life. They will take your hand, invite you to see their rooms, see their favorite toys. The little ones will proudly show you the last cursive writings in their text book. If you stay a while the girls will prepare a special program for you, with poems, songs and dance.
Once you visit the house of Kids Alive in Romania you will not forget it. One of our dear friends visiting the home said something that touched our heart: “If I were an orphan, this is the home I would like to live at.” The home is filled with laughter, music, dance and joy. The atmosphere seems so carefree you might be tempted to think these children always had an easy life, that they are not the ones who were neglected or abused, that they were “easier cases.” Sadly, that is not the case. Each of the girls at the home has a sad, sometimes even tragic, story.
