Tatiana’s Story
At the age of four Tatiana (not actual name) saw her mother dying in flames. Soon after the authorities took her away from her alcoholic father and she was placed in a large orphanage. When she eventually came to Kids Alive, she was troubled with posttraumatic stress syndrome. But with many years of love and acceptance, Tatiana today is a gentle young lady doing well in school and playing her viola in concerts with confidence and pride. She remembers her sad past and continues to mourn for the loss of her mother, but at the same time she sees that she has a bright future full of opportunities ahead of her.
