Kids Alive International - Papua New Guinea Kids Alive International is a fast-growing, non-denominational, global, Christian mission organization dedicated to rescuing children-in-crisis by meeting their physical, emotional, social, educational and spiritual needs. Kids Alive works with children in 14 countries around the world, and has set a goal of rescuing 10,000 children by 2010! We are offering an exciting opportunity for the right individuals or couple to fill two key leadership roles in our ministry among children-at-risk in Papua New Guinea. Applicants must be committed Christians with a heart for serving children-at-risk. The Director of Education and Communication will administrate a Papuan school system (elementary/middle/secondary/adult education) in Hauna Village and along the Sepik River, and will maintain communications with the Kids Alive International US office and with ministry donors and sponsors. The ideal applicant will have a background in elementary or secondary education, some experience as a school principal, and abilities in writing and project management. The Director of Maintenance & Outreach will oversee the ongoing process of maintaining the ministry buildings and mechanical/electrical/communications systems in Hauna Village, and will also supervise community development efforts in villages along the Sepik River. The ideal applicant will have proven abilities in construction trades, project managements, and leading outreach programs. Successful applicants for these positions must be willing to live in a humid, remote, jungle environment for extended periods of time. Learning Pidgin English will be required, but day-to-day ministry will take place in English. Approved applicants must raise sufficient funds (from churches, friends and family) to cover their missionary budget and be willing to live on-site in Hauna Village, PNG (with optional housing in the city of Wewak for periods away from the jungle).
