"Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much, and when we take your gifts to those who need them they will break out into thanksgiving and praise to God for your help." 2 Corinthians 9:11 LB

Transforming the Lives of Children in Crisis

Kids Alive International is growing and expanding to meet its goal of rescuing 10,000 children by 2010. We are grateful and appreciate every gift. To designate your tax-deductible contribution to a specific area, read through the giving descriptions below.

A. SPONSORSHIP - CHILD/HOME/CARE CENTER/CLASSROOM - Until 2004 most people opted for the one on one relationship they had with a specific child. Their $35 a month gift is a dollar a day used for such needs as food, clothing, medical treatment, schooling, and salaries of national staff. This continues to be a great need for us. Just as our economy has risen, the costs of raising children at our mission sites has rose. It is a great benefit to find donors willing to sponsor a specific home or classroom, because it gives the missionary the discretion to use the money in the area of most need for all the children. This could be furniture, gas for the van, playground equipment, repairs to the home, extra education tools, etc. The use of sponsoring a home or classroom has replaced the Adopt a Home program. A home/care center/classroom sponsor is a person, church, group, business or organization that contributes $100 a month or more to help provide care that benefits all the children in a given home or classroom.

B. ADOPT A MINISTRY SITE - This is usually done by a group (church, business, or organization) Similar to sponsoring a home this support comes in the form of a group who may include with financial contributions direct visits and work teams to a specific site. Gifts can include on going funding to build a ministry site and the special needs of this specific location. The group may also send and support a short term missionary to the location. There are many different ways a group of individuals can participate in caring for a specific site of children; Adopt a Ministry Site offers the best diversity for a large supporting group.

C. MISSIONARY SUPPORT - Our missionaries leave their homes and travel to these countries to care and administer to the needs of our children. These funds pay for their travel, administrative costs and living expenses in these countries. Missionaries put in long hours and share valuable expertise that is the cornerstone of our success. While enriching the lives of the children and nationals that they work with, they share the love of Christ and ensure that the donors gifts are well spent in the care of the children.

D. I JUST WANT TO HELP KIDS - SEED MONEY - These funds are used where ever the need is the greatest. The President of Kids Alive, Al Lackey, uses these funds to grow our mission field to serve more children. Our goal to reach 10,000 children by 2010 can only be met by your support. It is estimated that it will cost about $1500 to rescue each additional child to a safe, healthy, and holistic care surrounded by Christ’s love. It is important to know that 80% of every dollar raised is used in the field to rescue and care for children.

E. SITE SUPPORT – Each year hundreds of volunteers visit our fields to help on various types of work teams. Inspired by what they have seen they often want to support a specific site and encourage their friends and family to do this too. These gifts enable us to grow our ministry in each of those specific locations.

F. SPECIAL PROJECTS APPEALS - Often there is a unique appeal, it may come from our quarterly newsletter or a request from the field. The appeals can be anything from helping to buy school uniforms, a new generator, to purchasing land to build a new home. This is a wonderful way for use to fulfill specific needs in the mission field.

G. GIVE TO LIVE FUND - This fund will be used for medical needs and emergencies. In the past we have given money to heart surgery, AIDS medical needs, and hospital stays. It can also be used to employ site doctors and nurses that care for the AIDS children in Africa.

H. ESTATE GIVING - Traditionally, many of us think of leaving an inheritance to our family, but what is true of stewardship principles in life should also be true of the gifts we leave behind. After all, we are merely caretakers of the resources with which God has blessed us. Estate gifts provide us with another opportunity to teach our children, and others close to us, about our values and the things that are important to us. At Kids Alive International, legacy opportunities abound...eternal legacies that is...resulting in transformed lives of the children we rescue around the world.

"So, two good things happen as a result of your gifts - those in need are helped and they overflow with thanks to God. Those you help will be glad not only because of your generous gifts to themselves and to others, but they will praise God for this proof that your deeds are as good as your doctrine." 2 Corinthians 10: 12-13 LB
