Guatemala

The ministry of Kids Alive in Guatemala includes the Oasis Children’s Home and the Zapote Care Center.  These two locations allow Kids Alive to minister to more than 100 children in both residential and day programs.

Kids Alive Guatemala provides a variety of opportunities to serve. Whatever your skill level, there is a place for you. Construction teams are able to put up new buildings and/or provide much-needed maintenance and repair in a relatively short period of time (two-to-six weeks) and short-term missionaries serve a longer period of time (anywhere from two months to two years) supporting the Field Director in a wide range of areas suited to the skills and interest of the short-term missionary.

Guatemala is currently served by a Field Director and is supported by long-term missionaries. In addition, several short-term missionaries put their skills to good use, overseeing volunteer service teams working on construction projects, providing administrative support, organizing summer programs, etc., while national house parent couples live and care for the children in a loving, family-style atmosphere.
