Haiti: Nate's Place

Nate's and Phillip's Place

HAITI HOME

In November of 2004, Kids Alive International opened its second home, Nate's Place. Nate's Place is named in memory of two young men from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Nathan Smith and Nathan DaSilva were energetic Christian men whose lives were full of activity. Nathan Smith lost his life in a mountain climbing accident at the age of 22 and Nathan DaSilva was killed in a car accident while traveling to a high school basketball game. The parent's of these boys have gathered together some of their friends to support the running costs of this home. They have been joined by a group from Wheatley Baptist Church in Ontario Canada who are adding their strength to the group from British Columbia. This latter group are friends with Tom and Helen Froese who serve in Haiti with Kids AliveĀ® International.

After only four months of the home's existence, Nanni, the home mother of Nate's Place, gave birth to a boy, Samuel. Plans to expand the home were put on hold due to Samuel's birth and lack of funds. As of September, 2005, however, the home has been expanded to a total of ten children.

Nate's Place is under the loving supervision of Cellondieu and Nanni Georges. Please remember to pray for this home and especially for the parents, Cellondieu and Nanni, that God would bless their home and in turn cause their home to be a blessing to Cap Haitien.
