Peru

Peru joined the Kids Alive® International family in 1992! The Lima Children’s Home is currently seeking a new location due to needed room to care for more orphans and vulnerable children, inflationary costs in utilities, and no room to expand the current facilities.

Peru continues to grow beyond the four walls of the children’s home. Reaching out to the community of Manchay, our care center is being relocated to a larger facility to provide care for children of single, working mothers during the day. The Manchay Care Center gives young children a safe place to play and interact with other children, while providing nutritious meals, medical attention as needed, loving care and required parenting classes for all mothers who are using these facilities.

Peru is currently served by Field Directors, Mike and Diane Fietje. Long-Term missionaries supporting this field are Connie and David Rhodes and Patty Thrones.  Short-Term Missionaries put their skills to good use, overseeing volunteer service teams, providing administrative support, and organizing summer programs, while national house parent couples live and care for the children in a loving, family-style atmosphere.
