Ministry Locations Zambia joined the Kids Alive International family in 2001. All sectors of society in Zambia are being affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, especially the 20-to-45 age group that is normally the most productive economically and bears the weight of child rearing. It is predicted that within the next 10 years, more than 50 percentof the adult population will die or be dying from AIDS. This means that many children will be left without any parent to care for them. Since Kids Alive International entered Zambia, we have expanded to six children’s homes, some with preschools. As the AIDS crisis dramatically changes countries like Zambia, more homes will be added so that more children will be cared for. Those children raised with the love of Christ and the discipline of committed parents or house parents will lead the country in the future. Zambia is currently served by national Field Directors, Jimmy and Ivy Kongwa. Each of the children’s homes have national house parents and support staff to love and care for the children and provide for all of their needs.
