Zambia: Lilato Two Children's Home

ZAMBIA HOME

LOCATION

The Lilato Children’s Home & Preschool (Lilato means Love) is located in the small town of Mongu, Zambia. Zambia is a land-locked country in southern Africa, just south of Congo and north of Zimbabwe.

HISTORY

The Kids Alive Zambia project began in 1999 with a visit to Zambia by members of the Canadian Board. We were aware of the devastating impact of the AIDS crisis on the children of the country. A Zambian board of directors was formed in 2000. In 2002 the Lilato Children’s Home was opened.
