Kids Alive International works with thousands of orphans and vulnerable children in four Latin American countries – Peru, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Haiti. This week, please join us in praying for the huge needs in these four countries, for our dedicated leadership teams and staff, and for the amazing children that we serve. In addition, we would appreciate prayers for our US Board meetings being held on Thursday and Friday this week. Thank you!

Monday July 14th
We are thankful to God for the growth we have seen in our Dominican Republic programs in recent years – praise God that we now care for more than 1,500 children in this country! Pray for the current summer program that is in process – for the 18 interns from the US that are helping with this and that the children would improve academically, have lots of fun, and grow spiritually during this time. Pray that this ministry would continue to bring about lasting change in children’s lives and that we would have the resources to expand our facilities and help even more children in the future. Tuesday, July 15th
Physical and sexual abuse of children is a serious problem in Guatemala. Much of this abuse goes unreported to the authorities, and convictions of offenders are difficult to obtain. Our ministry in Guatemala works with girls that have been abused, helping them to heal from their tragic experiences, reach their full potential, and know the love of Christ in their lives. We also seek justice for their abusers through the court system. Pray for God’s protection on this vital ministry, the children and staff; pray particularly for our new program, ‘La Arquilla’, which is caring for young girls that are pregnant or have babies as a result of abuse. Wednesday, July 16th
Pray for our Field Directors in Latin America – Vic and Ramon (Dominican Republic), Corbey (Guatemala), Mike (Peru) and Robenson (Haiti) and their management teams. Pray for good health, strength, wisdom and God’s leading for each of these leaders as our ministries in these countries continue to grow and reach out to more orphans and vulnerable children with quality care and education, as well as the love of Jesus.

Thursday, July 17th
Two days of Board meetings begin today in the US. Please pray that, as the Board reviews the progress being made and considers the next steps for Kids Alive International, there would be a real sense of unity, that God would be at the center of all of the discussions, and that wise decisions would be made.

Friday, July 18th
Poverty is rife in Peru, with many families struggling to survive, children forced to work as laborers, and thousands of orphans and street children. Our program in Peru continues to expand in several locations as we seek to respond to these needs. Pray for funds and staff needed to open a new children’s home in the jungle region of Pucallpa, and for our efforts to provide critical medical care in this area. Many children die needlessly from preventable diseases and we want to help.

Saturday, July 19th
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, and its infrastructure was devastated by the 2010 earthquake. Child mortality rates remain high, and trafficking and a lack of access to education are major problems. Since the earthquake, our work has grown significantly in this area, with a Children’s Village and school under construction. Pray for the funding and resources needed to continue this important work, and for transformation in the young lives that we work with in Haiti.

Sunday, July 20th
Our desire is to see every child that we care for come to know Jesus personally and serve Him as they grow up! As our kids attend church today, please pray for healing for them from past hurts that they have experienced and that they would have a very real sense of God’s presence with them. Pray that they would grow up to serve Him in their lives and be lights for Him to their families, communities and nations!

Thank you for your prayers!
