THANK YOU, GOD! It is Thanksgiving this week! And as we look back over the past year, we do so with thankfulness for all that God has accomplished through Kids Alive International’s ministry. In 2014, we have been able to construct new children’s homes, schools and care centers, expand some of our programs and help more children than ever before! Join us in thanking God for His continued, faithful provision and for the children’s lives that have been transformed as a result!

At the same time, we have received some specific prayer requests from our fields this week. Please keep the following in your prayers:

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: We will be enrolling three new vulnerable children to our home at Casa Monte Plata this week…weather permitting. They were supposed to join our family there last week, but heavy rain and flooding prevented their arrival. Pray that they would be able to join the home this week and that each would settle in quickly. Pray also for our missionaries serving in Monte Plata, James and Rebecca Holt and their family, and Kristin Barber.

GUATEMALA: Director Corbey Dukes requests “prayer for the seminar Kids Alive Guatemala is hosting on November 24th and 25th in Antigua, Guatemala. We have over 80 judges, prosecutors, social workers and psychologists from various organizations within the Guatemalan government attending our seminar ‘Forensic Interview Techniques for Sexually Abused Children’. The seminar is being led by a team of experts from the US who formed a mission trip to provide this training to help improve the system in Guatemala. An amazing way God is using Kids Alive to bless thousands of children who find themselves in the legal system as victims of abuse”.Continue to keep Corbey, his staff, and our amazing work with abused girls in Guatemala in your prayers!

LEBANON: We are having problems with the water supply at our main children’s home, Dar El Awlad. Missionary Kahlil Pfaff reports: “Over the years we have been blessed to have a constant supply of water. Now, due to circumstances beyond our control, we don’t have access to that supply until after Christmas. As a result of this disruption we are forced to purchase water several times a week in order to meet the needs of our children and support staff. Please pray for us during this time that we are able to be good stewards of the water we do have and that funds will come in to cover this new expense”.

ZAMBIA: Our Girls’ Home in Lusaka needs to move out of their rented accommodation soon. Director Jim Kongwa asks that we pray that another, suitable house can be found so that the girls can move and settle in. We are also raising funds to construct a new children’s home at our Chikondi Children’s Village in Lusaka, which will be a long-term solution for these girls’ accommodation needs. Please pray that the funds would come in soon!

OUR MISSIONARIES: We are so thankful to God for each of our missionaries that serve in different parts of the world! Thank God for each one and their commitment to serve the Lord and care for orphans and vulnerable children. Pray for God’s blessing upon our missionaries this week, especially for those that are celebrating Thanksgiving away from their families. Pray that God would give each of our missionaries His peace, strength and wisdom each day as they work with the children. Pray especially for those that are currently underfunded, that God would provide for their particular financial needs.

Thank you for your prayers. We are thankful to you, our prayer supporters, as we serve children across the world. Thank you for your partnership with us!
