Effective August 1, Corbey Dukes, former Country Director of Kids Alive Guatemala, assumed the role of President of Kids Alive International. Corbey has served with Kids Alive for 11 years, leading in the rescue, redemption, and restoration of victims of exploitation and sexual violence in Guatemala.
Corbey brings to this leadership role a passion for vulnerable children and for empowering God’s people in ministry. Please keep Corbey and Janie in your prayers as they make this transition!
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me;
my only aim is to finish the race and
complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—
the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
Partners and generous supporters of Kids Alive’s ministry in Lebanon attended a virtual “family meeting” with Country Director Denise Dagher and members of the Kids Alive Development staff on April 22, hearing first-hand how the ministry is responding to the COVID-19 crisis in the midst of the already urgent needs there.
Denise’s passion for the vulnerable children and families was inspiring, as she related stories of desperate need and of an unusual receptivity to the Gospel. She acknowledges that work among a Muslim population is slow and presents many obstacles, but she and her dedicated staff see God at work daily.
If you were not able to be with us for Denise’s presentation, would like to listen again, or would like to share the call with other interested friends, you can watch here (and feel free to share with family and friends):
Feeding hungry families
Most of the families of the children in our programs are day laborers, and a day without work means a day without food. Kids Alive is supplying many of these families with cooked meals at least twice a week and with non-perishables that they can cook for themselves during the rest of the week. We are working with 30 families at New Horizons, 40 families connected to Dar El Awlad School, and 20 families in the Oasis Refugee Program. The cost to feed one family for a month is $125.
If you’d like to give a special gift to help cover increased food and other costs at Dar El Awlad, Oasis Refugee Center, and New Horizons during the current crisis, you can do that here:
