This imperative to be about the business of going is as relevant today as that day. For more than 100 years Kids Alive International has been about the business of going as Jesus commanded.
Through partnerships with local churches, Christian schools, and faith based nonprofits we have equipped and mobilized hundreds of teams and thousands of volunteers to GO! and share the love of Jesus as they use their gifts, abilities, and resources to serve. Our mobilization model is simple.
Engage organizations in KAI’s Faith Community Network and connect them with opportunities to GO! and demonstrate the love of Jesus where Kids Alive operates programs. We call this a GO! TEAM.
WHAT IS A GO! TEAM?
GO! TEAMs are short-term, international trips designed to connect volunteer teams with a 1 or 2-week experience and provide the opportunity to share their faith, talents, and abilities at one of Kids Alive’s sites which include residential children’s homes, care centers, and schools.
Each GO! TEAM should be endorsed by a Christian church, Christian school, or faith-based nonprofit as representatives and be led by an authorized agent (staff or volunteer) of the organization. Possible team structures include young adults, student/teacher teams, mother/daughter or father/son teams, and men’s or women’s groups of all ages. Team size ranges from 5-20 participants.
Fees
The per person cost to participate is based on the country of destination, length of the trip, and ministry projects for the trip. Fees range from $950 to $1,300 per person and include accommodations, meals, in-country ground transportation, and the cost of ministry projects.
A portion of the fees is used to sustain the country’s ministry.
The base fees do not cover airfare, passports, international travel medical insurance, domestic ground transportation, or travel visas (if required).
Where to Go?
We are currently sending GO! TEAMs to six countries: Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Kenya, Lebanon, Peru, and Zambia. we’ll link to these pages later as they are are currently being edited.
Team Activities
We want to build partnerships between each team and the ministry site that best match (1) the team’s skills and desired activities and (2) the needs of the site. Our staff will guide you through the process of developing a trip agenda. Some options to consider include:
- Sports/Art/Music Camps, and other educational programs
- Construction Projects (depending on skill level)
- Medical or Dental
- Vacation Bible School or Backyard Bible Clubs
- Prayer Walking
- Staff nurturing and care
