Kids Alive announces its new President!

Corbey Dukes assumes the role of President, Kids Alive International

Effective August 1, Corbey Dukes, former Country Director of Kids Alive Guatemala, assumed the role of President of Kids Alive International. Corbey has served with Kids Alive for 11 years, leading in the rescue, redemption, and restoration of victims of exploitation and sexual violence in Guatemala.

Corbey brings to this leadership role a passion for vulnerable children and for empowering God’s people in ministry. Please keep Corbey and Janie in your prayers as they make this transition!

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me;
my only aim is to finish the race and
complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—
the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

Welcome Corbey Dukes

Dear Kids Alive Family,

I know how fervently so many of you have been praying for God’s leading in our presidential search. Our God is so faithful, and it is with joy that I can share with you that after an exhaustive search, the Board has selected Corbey Dukes to assume the role of President of Kids Alive International, effective August 1, 2020.

Most of you will know that for the last 11 years Corbey has served the Country Director of Kids Alive Guatemala. What you might not know is that before coming to Kids Alive, Corbey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Clemson University in 1984, followed by an MBA from Clemson in 1992 and an MA in Religion from Liberty University in 2008. During these years, he held positions in the corporate world, working in systems engineering and project management, and in 2008 joined the leadership team of Pawley’s Island Community Church in South Carolina as administrative and missions pastor.

Since January 2009, Corbey has led the work at Oasis, Arquilla, Casa Ester, Escuintla Families Together, and the Source of Hope. His passion for justice and healing for children who have been left shattered by abuse is well-known to the authorities in that country and has been an inspiration to all of us as he has pioneered innovative interventions for abused and exploited girls.

God has wired Corbey’s heart for vulnerable children and families and He has gifted him to think strategically, systematically, and culturally to create teams to take on giants. For these reasons, and many more…

Please join me in welcoming Corbey Dukes to his new leadership position as together we “take on the giants” in rescuing, redeeming, and restoring exploited and vulnerable children and families.

Blessings,
Sheri McCurley
Board Chair, Kids Alive International
