Children are too often at risk for child labor, sexual abuse, and neglect. Kids Alive has built strong community roots for over 20 years. We provide restorative education, protective care, and family strengthening programs that empower children and families to cultivate healthier relationships. Our goal for each child is to know the love of God, to understand they are cherished, and to be equipped with the emotional, physical, and spiritual tools they need to thrive.
Give NowIvy (pseudonym), a 14-year-old girl in our program, has faced the challenges of abandonment since birth. Her trauma from neglect led her to become independent and avoidant. However, through Kids Alive’s trauma-responsive intervention, she experienced a transformative shift, growing in self-awareness and now embracing appropriate physical touch as a healthy means of connection. Kids Alive teaches trauma-informed methods to help children and families connect and facilitate learning, re-learning, and unlearning for a healthier livelihood within the community and society at large.

“Safe Havens” are Kids Alive’s global programs that focus on family strengthening through family care centers, protective care through residential homes and foster care, or justice advocacy through justice centers. Our goal is to bring a team of professional staff dedicated to meeting each child’s unique needs for health, justice, and emotional healing as needed by the unique circumstances of the child. These teams work tirelessly, in whichever Safe Haven they enter, to lead children to emotional health, equip the child and their family for independence and service, disciple them to a transforming relationship with God, and when needed, help them find justice and freedom from fear. Our team enrolled Linnet, her younger sister, and her mother into Kids Alive’s program for emotional support. KAI shared the healing love of Jesus and provided care for Linnet and her family. Linnet was able to join one of the KAI schools, and she graduated high school year with exemplary final exam scores!
