Kids Alive has served children in Lebanon for over 75 years. During that time, Lebanon has endured wars and political turmoil, where the least of these are most impacted. Over the years, our team has adjusted to meet the needs of abused and neglected children as well as the most vulnerable families in this beautiful country through our comprehensive restorative education, family strengthening, and protective care programs and resources. Our goal for each child is to know the love of God, to understand they are cherished, and to be equipped with the emotional, physical, and spiritual tools they need to thrive.
Give NowNoah and his brother came to our Kids Alive Lebanon Home following family problems and mistreatment at a previous shelter. He displayed aggressive behavior, using offensive language and refusing help from anyone. Despite this, the Kids Alive team provided him with love, care, and daily counseling. Over time, Noah began to trust his caregivers and peers, improving his behavior and staying in class without causing trouble. A pivotal moment occurred during a Bible devotion when Noah expressed his desire to control his behavior and honor the Lord. Noah’s willingness to change was notable to our Kids Alive staff, and he has since shown significant improvement in managing his anger and seeking help when needed. “Safe Havens” are Kids Alive’s global programs that focus on family strengthening through family care centers, protective care through residential homes and foster care, or justice advocacy through justice centers. Our goal is to bring a team of professional staff dedicated to meeting each child’s unique needs for health, justice, and emotional healing as needed by the unique circumstances of the child. These teams work tirelessly, in whichever Safe Haven they enter, to lead children to emotional health, equip the child and their family for independence and service, disciple them to a transforming relationship with God, and when needed, help them find justice and freedom from fear. Give to Safe HavensEscaping war, 11-year-old Amina sought refuge in Lebanon with her family. Amina’s father works in construction, and he would come to Kids Alive Lebanon daily to work on a construction project. Since she wasn’t going to school, Amina would help her father at a young age. She enrolled in KAI’s school after being approached by the director of Kids Alive Lebanon.
As Amina encountered unfamiliar territory, she found solace in the support and encouragement of her teachers and peers. Amina not only mastered the basics of literacy but also blossomed into a confident leader within her classroom. Amina would spend a lot of time praying for her family and her studies.
After a year of dedicated learning, Amina developed her skills to a level where she was ready to join a regular school. This year, she happily joined Grade 2 with her fellow classmates, sincerely thanking her teachers and exclaiming, “I am so happy now that I come to school.”
