For the past seven years, William has served faithfully at Kids Alive Kenya, where his compassion for children has grown into a calling. “I was inspired to join Kids Alive because of my passion for kids,” he shares. “This organization gave me a chance to exercise empathy for vulnerable children.”
Today, William’s work focuses on family assessments and home visits, a vital part of understanding each child’s environment and needs. But the process isn’t always easy. When caregivers are hesitant to share information, William leans on patience and humility. He says he’s learned to build rapport and reassure families that the information they share will remain confidential—a small but powerful act of trust-building that often opens doors to healing.

Changed Lives
That trust has transformed lives, including the story of Pato, an 11-year-old boy who lost his mother young and struggled with neglect from an alcoholic father. Pato arrived at Hall Mead School withdrawn and emotionally distressed. He rarely attended class and often got into fights. Through the school’s mentorship program and the combined care of teachers, social workers, and counselors, Pato began to heal.
“Now he looks joyful,” William notes. “He has many friends, his self-esteem has improved, and he’s doing well in school.” Pato’s progress reminds William why his work matters—because when children are surrounded by stability, compassion, and faith, transformation takes root.
"Justice That Heals, Bonds That Mend"
For William, KAI’s tagline isn’t just a phrase. It’s a vision for his community. He believes that when people become trauma-informed, the root causes of suffering can finally be addressed, and families can find restoration and hope.
“Justice that heals,” he says, “means empowering communities through education, care, and advocacy until they are free from trauma and injustice.”
William’s journey is a living picture of what it means to serve with faith, integrity, and understanding—building bonds that mend and helping children step into a brighter future.
